The Joy of Nubian Dance

Open level

At this fun and fast-paced workshop you will learn some Follow-the-Leader freestyle steps used for dancing to Nubian music celebrations and parties, as well as super cute, sassy and energetic Nubian style dance choreography.

A truly irrestible combination of freestyle and choreography to some seriously funky and infectious beats.

Samba Oriental Drum Solo

Level 2/3

Egypt meets Brazil in this drum solo that features a whole lot of fabulous Belly Dance shimmying with a touch of Samba style and just a smidgeon of Vegas showgirl sexiness. We'll be dancing, prancing and posing to a short but dramatic drum solo.

In this workshop, you'll learn sharp Belly Dance isolations, a basic Samba Reggae step and an Earth-shaking layered shimmy.

Bring your dive-tude and be prepared for an awesome workout!

London's biggest and best bellydance festival again offers you workshops with international teachers, including old favourites and teachers new to the UK, plus British teachers offering a huge variety of different and unusual styles!

Stars New and Old!

We are delighted to welcome teachers from Algeria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, the USA and, of course, the United Kingdom. All are famous in their own countries, and some will be teaching and performing in the UK for the first time.

Information on our 2012 teachers, the Fantasia timetable and online bookings, will be available from the beginning of September. So come back then to see our fabulous lineup of teachers.

More Variety than Ever Before!

This year we have more choice than ever. We have a truly amazing variety of subjects, with everything from Egyptian styles to Polynesian, Belly Burlesque, Flamenco, Gypsy, Salsa Fusion, Belly Hoop, the Cancan and much, much more!

Competitions at Fantasia!

Following the success of last year's competitions, this year we will again be running the wonderful Isis Award, Cleopatra Award and Palace Dancers Award competitions.

We are very excited about this, because we want to show the world that our art form has exacting standards and we know what a fantastic effect winning a competition of this kind can do for a dancer's career. We know how hard it is to become recognised in your own country or abroad, and the extra boost a competition can give is invaluable. As we have dancers from all over the UK and other countries at Fantasia, we expect a rich and varied mix of competitors!

We have three competitions for you, each with its own identity. All competitions take place in the Studio Theatre at Fantasia. If you would like to enter please register early to avoid disappointment, as places are limited.

The Gala Show!

The unmissable Saturday Night Show is the perfect opportunity to see a wealth of wonderful performances from our international stars and their students, in a wide variety of styles. This show is legendary for being the most innovative showcase in the UK!

 

 

Shopping!

Remember to allow time for shopping in our wonderful Souk, which offers a fantastic selection of dancewear, music and accessories. You can buy everything you need for class or performance!

Booking and Prices

Each workshop costs £15.
The Saturday Night Show is £20.
You can pay for workshops and the Saturday Night Show by credit or debit card, or by PayPal.

Tickets to watch the competitions are free if you have a workshop ticket for that day.
To come to Fantasia without booking a workshop, there is a fee of £4 (cash on the door only). This includes entry to the Souk and to watch the competitions on that day.
